Free agency caused a lot of ups and downs for many players in the league. This article contains ten NFL players who's fantasy football value is on the rise since free agency. Keep an eye out for them in your fantasy football draft.

Ray Rice, Bal
The Raven's traded away their goal line running back, Willis McGahee. McGahee has been vulturing touchdowns from Rice for years. Willis leaving should greatly improve Rice's touchdown numbers. Then the Ravens signed All-Pro fullback Vonta Leach to a three-year deal, presumably removing Le'Ron McClain from the equation.

A great tool that is a common feature if your draft is hosted online is the watch list. A watch list is just a way to keep your eyes on any free agents your thinking about, and all in the same spot. I use this feature commonly, usually I will fill the list with players who I think have a chance of breaking out. The list is mostly filled with running backs and receivers because it is uncommon for a player to break out at any other position although a few will make the list through the season. These are the type of players you should see as free agents after your fantasy football draft. They could be considered deep sleepers.

In this article I will provide you with my watch list on my first 10 team standard 16 slot rosters league, although the list is much deeper than necessary for a 10 team league. Really I'm not a big fan of 10 team leagues with standard rosters, but I usually do one a year and thought I would do one fantasy draft during the NFL lockout for a challenge. Below is my fantasy football watch list as of July 31st, 2011 and a comment for each player.

Carolina is one of few teams in the NFL that possess multiple starting caliber running backs. Both Jonathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams have the talent to be three down backs in the NFL. This off-season DeAngelo Williams was a free agent. The Panthers have plenty of holes on offense and it would make a lot of sense to let Williams sign with another team. They could use that cap room at any other position but running back. Instead of letting Williams leave they resign him with a 5 year 43 million dollar contract. In my opinion, not the best move for the Panthers. This was definitely not the best move for either Stewart or William's fantasy value.

Free agency after the lockout was fast and exciting. So far on day one teams were only able to sign there own free agents and begin negotiating with other teams and free agents. There were tons of deals negotiated that should be signed on Thursday. On day one the talk of the day was quarterbacks. A most the smaller moves were made but the big names have yet to be moved. In this article I'm going to overview all the team changes for relevant fantasy football players so far. These moves aren't considered official until Thursday. This post will be updated frequently throughout the next few days.

Roger Goodell and DeMaurice SmithRejoice! The lockout is over! It was made official today as the players accepted the deal from the owners. The lockout went on for 134 long days and was the longest in NFL history. This also means that a lot of new information will be coming out in the upcoming days fantasy football wise that will have big affects on the fantasy football rankings, so be sure to check back for those changes. Also I have been working on a big project so stay tuned for that. In this article I'm going to go over some of the key points of the deal as well as what will happen in the next few days.

Word is in that the end of the lockout is near. The owners have voted to put a conditional end to the lockout. 31 voted to end the lockout while only the Raiders abstained on July 21st, 2011. Now the true end to the lockout is pending the approval of the players as well as the reformation of the NFLPA (NFL Players Association) and some general legal work. The plan they laid out should have the players back into their facilities on Saturday, July 23nd, 2011. On that day teams will be able to begin resigning or waiving their own free agents and rookies. On Wednesday the league year will officially start and all of free agency will open. This is when things will start to get shaken up, if you already drafted your fantasy football team this will affect you the most. Below is a list of all 2011 free agents who could have an impact on your 2011 fantasy football season so keep an eye on who signs them.

Fantasy football players have a lot of unusual tips, one that you might have come across is the theory that wide receivers are most likely to break out in their third season. If you've been playing fantasy football for a while now then you probably already know this rule because it is fairly common. No one has ever statistically proven it or anything it just seems to be a trend every year. The theory is that the receivers take about 2 years to get used to the higher competition and how much attention to detail their route running really takes. Being a receiver is more difficult than perceived by the average fan.

For now I'm not going to go really deep into trying to prove that third year wide receivers are the best, I am just going to provide a list of all third year wide receivers, not all of this players are necessarily ready to break out. For players who are set to break out check out the Sleepers Page. More sleepers articles are available on the left side bar as well. Keep in mind that comments for each player is featured on their rankings page, so check it out.

Jeremy Maclin is a number 2 wide receiver with the potential to put up stats like a number 1 receiver. He doesn't have all the glamor that DeSean Jackson has but last year Maclin outscored Jackson in fantasy points. Of course Jackson played two less games than Maclin but that is another advantage Maclin has over Jackson. Jackson is known to be injury prone while injuries have never been a problem with Maclin. This year I believe that Maclin will end up within the top 10 wide receivers in the NFL. I have seen him ranked as low as 18 while browsing a few sites online. Only 8 spots but that is about 2 rounds difference in your fantasy football draft, in my opinion this makes Maclin a steal.

Sleepers are crucial to success in fantasy football. You need to find undervalued players before your league mates do. These players can be used as starters, depth, or for trades. If you can collect enough solid players in the late rounds of the draft and free agency (often called waiver wire pick ups) throughout the season then you will win your fantasy football league. This article will contain strategies you can deploy to find your own fantasy football sleepers. When your new to fantasy you might find yourself a little confused about how you can find out which players are valuable and which aren't. This article will help you master your fantasy football skills.

Strength of schedule is calculated by taking the 2011 schedule and adding up all of each teams opponents wins and losses. This won't account for any improvements or declines by a team from the 2010 to 2011 season so it is by no means a guarantee of success but it can be useful for fantasy football. Just because the Cardinals have the easiest schedule doesn't mean you should draft a ton of Cardinals because, lets be honest, the Cardinals aren't that great. Strength of schedule can be used as a form of tie breaker. Figure out which teams have easy schedules. If you are between a player from the Panthers (hardest schedule) and a player from the Cardinals (easiest schedule) and they are about equal in value to you then take the Cardinal because he will be playing an easy schedule and easy opponents often translate to a lot of fantasy points.

In this article I will be expanding on my previous article Fantasy Football Sleepers 2011 so be sure to read that article before you get started with this one. In this list I am only going to include 3 more fantasy football sleepers. Sleepers, as I told you in my previous article, are cruicial to your success in fantasy football. They are undervalued players who will out preform their ADP (average draft pick). Last year you could have picked Arian Foster in the middle rounds. If you did draft Foster last year then you had the biggest sleeper of the year as he ended up being number one overall in fantasy points. Sleepers, busts, and waiver wire pick-ups are the little things that win fantasy football leagues. The 3 sleepers I provide in this list are "deeper" then the previous sleepers I listed. The sleepers are ranked in no particular order, meaning that the numbers mean nothing.

Have you ever found yourself scrambling for time when its your turn in the late rounds of a fantasy draft and you don't know who to draft? If so then your problem could be that you haven't practiced drafting. Just like anything else in life, practice makes perfect.

Mock drafts will help you to recognize what round you need to take your target quarterback, or when the tight end run is going to happen so you aren't left with a mediocre tight end. In fantasy football mock drafts are the perfect practice. Mock drafts should be done at least a few times every year if you are serious about winning your fantasy football league.  The mock drafts you did in 2010 are no longer useful for 2011 and new mock drafts should be done because all of the players change and sometimes the overall picture can change significantly.

There is a lot of rave going on this year about ranking Michael Vick for fantasy football in 2011. Some people say he is number one overall. But other people claim they would never draft him. The question on a lot of fantasy football owners minds is should I draft Michael Vick? His points per game last season was amazing. He put up spectacular numbers in only twelve games last season. Sure that all sounds great but he is also known to be an extremely risky player. Throughout the rest of this article I am going to explain why Michael Vick is scary to own and scary to face in fantasy football.

This fantasy football guide will include both general draft strategy, as well as, some observations that are specific to the 2011 season. Meaning analysis on who you should draft, or the different positions in general.

General Analysis
For this section I am going to start off with a list of things that every fantasy player should know, if your a veteran fantasy player and you just want to find information for this year then scroll down past this list.
  • Never skip your draft.
  • Always research current player information.
  • Don't draft players because you like them.
  • Don't be afraid to stray from the default rankings where you play fantasy football
  • Have a plan ahead of time including a list of sleepers, busts, projections, and player rankings.
  • When it is your turn to draft look ahead to judge what your oppenents will take. For example, I have my eye on a running back and a wide receiver and I like both but I notice all the guys that pick in between me and my next pick are in need of running backs.I then take my running back first and watch them all take running backs then I get my receiver in the next round.
This article contains fantasy football predictions and projections for Mike Williams (Tampa Bay) in the 2011 season.

Mike Williams had an extraordinary rookie debut on a young Tampa Bay offense. This offense features Josh Freeman who is now entering his third season and LeGarrette Blount who is entering his second season this year. Both players are extremely young and talented. Freeman played ten games in his rookie season in 2009 and managed to rack up 1,855 yards and 10 touchdowns, he also threw 18 interceptions. It wasn't the best season. Freeman stats improved greatly in 2011. He was even owned in some fantasy football leagues. He wasn't on top of the rankings but he managed to put up 3,451 yards, 25 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. This was a great second season and should be signs of things to come which is why he is one of my fantasy football sleepers for 2011. He also added 364 rushing yards to his yardage totals. Freeman is just what Williams needs, a talented young quarterback who has some experience in the league and a bright future. The Bucs should also see improvement from the running back position as well with the emergence of LeGarrette Blount.

Every year, fantasy football has a few busts. Last year there was Ryan Mathews, Shonn Greene, and Michael Crabtree to name a few. A bust is when any fantasy player under preforms the fantasy rank they were given during the off season. On this list I will include busts from all positions that I think are most likely to bust this season. It is somewhat of a do not draft list. The number next to the players name is simply for organization and isn't any sort of a ranking system. I strongly recommend that you read my rankings and sleepers as well (links on the side bar). Okay enough chitter chatter lets get started with the Fantasy Football Bust list.

Fantasy leagues are won and lost in the late rounds of the draft. I remember my first season of fantasy football when I was about 12 years old. I thought I knew a lot of football but I was proven sorely wrong when after doing no research at all I found myself dropping tons of my mid-late round picks to pick up free agents by mid season. By that point I got into it and was doing tons of research and totally obsessed so I ended up doing fair in an inactive league. The most important things in fantasy if you want to be successful are to do your pre-draft research and stay active during the season on the waiver wire and with your rosters. This list will provide you 8 of my fantasy football sleepers that you should keep in mind on draft day organized by position. This list is comprised of mid to late round sleepers. Once you've finished this article be sure to check out More Fantasy Football Sleepers 2011 and How To Find Fantasy Football Sleepers as well as these player specific articles on Jeremy Maclin, Michael Vick and Mike Williams.

Welcome to my fantasy football analysis blog, this is Kevin. For a little background information I have been playing fantasy football for about 10 years now which isn't so much compared to some people, but I am obsessed with fantasy football and I like to think I have a high win percentage in my leagues :).

I analyze players all the time as well as take into account information from others, I sit on the edge of my seat as I watch my players rack up points during the week. All in all I love fantasy football and that is why I am making this site. To share my insight with you and maybe (hopefully) it will help you out!

Bookmark this site because every week during the season I will update a list of waiver wire pick-ups that will run from shallow to deep with my  rankings and reasoning about each pick so you can dominate your league.

I will also rank players before the season and have an article on my picks that I think are going lower than they should be in the fantasy football drafts. I hope you enjoy my blog and keep reading!
